Ingersoll Rand leverages its robust dry screw technology and pairs it with VWA series Roots pumps to build the new VS series dry screw vacuum pump units. The design improves ultimate vacuum, increases pumping speed, shortens evacuation time, reduces energy consumption and delivers superior operating performance.
To accommodate diverse working conditions across different industries and applications, Ingersoll Rand offers a variety of configurations for customers to select.
Features
Advanced Screw Design
The advanced constant‑diameter variable‑pitch screw rotor design ensures continuous gas compression along the full rotor length. This design cuts temperature and power consumption while achieving desirable ultimate vacuum. The discharge port is located at the bottom to guarantee complete drainage of liquids.
Dual‑end Shaft Support
The non‑cantilever design delivers rigid rotor support with lower vibration and higher reliability. Especially suitable for demanding processes, the VS series offers excellent tolerance to liquids and dust.
Advanced Shaft Sealing Technology
Mechanical seals and piston ring (labyrinth) seals are adopted on the discharge side. Lip seals and piston ring (labyrinth) seals are used on the suction side. This configuration ensures long service life as well as efficient and reliable sealing performance. Optional gas purge for seals is available to enhance sealing performance for highly corrosive applications or liquid flushing duties.
Performance Enhancement via Variable Speed Drive or Roots Booster
VS dry screw vacuum pumps work well with variable speed drive. Pump speed ranges typically from 20 to 60 Hz. Excellent vacuum control and improved pumping speed are achieved at 50 Hz supply.
Adopting a Roots vacuum booster can raise the ultimate vacuum by at least one order of magnitude and boost flow capacity, usually 2 to 8 times that of high vacuum operation.
